Ground Rules For Access
Approvals are for now, still through e-mail validation AND manually checked by staff. If it's taking longer than usual, check back in a few hours. Some of us sleep.
1. Your Email must remain valid. The system will check and purge you randomly if your email address bounces, is fake or a known spammer address. I don't care if you have a problem with it, you can set your preferences to deny system e-mails if you are concerned about spam (which WE wont do). We already state we dont share your information with anyone and there are full privacy systems in place you can set so there is no reason to fight this policy, it's not negotiable.
2. Usernames: I've seen them all over the years. I'm not going to press the issue except in the case of obviously lewd or abusive names (or any that clearly fall under the category of being an asshole) I'd hope you would consider the presentation your own profile has, since we are really trying to cultivate a quality experience and user base here. IF YOU ARE HERE JUST TO LEECH don't be surprised if your registration is denied or revoked because you entered a username like asdfgrd or some shit.
3. While not mandatory, consider using and tailoring your profile and at least your profile picture. There is a quick sticky post with a video in the general discussion forum showing you how easy it is to do this.
4. General cordiality and social conventions apply. There will probably be fights, there always are in any community. Unlike Facebook or other big tech social media platforms I'm not going to step in on opinion. If the shoe fits, be prepared to wear it.
5. File Downloads: Yes, you have to register for file downloads. The old system had MANY hotlinked 3rd party websites leeching the files, and that eventually degrades system performance. Thank them for this minor inconvenience. IF YOU ARE HERE JUST TO LEECH don't be surprised if your registration is denied or revoked because you entered a username like asdfgrd or some shit.
6. These reminders will be updated as needed. Can't hurt to revisit them from time to time.
